Alan is a First Vice President – Consultant in Alliant/ABC’s Absence, Disability, and Life (ADL) Practice. He joined the company in 2017. Alan has consulted with large and medium size employers in such industries as retail, transportation, healthcare, legal, manufacturing, banking, government, and technology on time-off and disability program strategy, and specializes in plan design, utilization, and trend analysis benchmarking.
While at Mercer (as the Central Practice Leader), Alan assisted in writing Mercer’s Survey of Absence Management in 2010, 2013, 2015, and 2017.
Alan has consulted with large employers for 17 years on time-off plans including Vacation, PTO, Sick Leave, STD, FMLA, LTD, Workers Compensation, and Integrated Health and Productivity management programs. Prior to Alan’s consulting experience, he spent 10 years at a leading disability insurance vendor where he worked in claims, training, and account management. He was challenged in this company with managing and leading the largest client (+100,000 employees) in their STD, LTD, and sick leave plans.
Alan earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Abilene Christian University. He is also a member of the Disability Management Employers Coalition (DMEC) and The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
